About

I began my career as an aspiring filmmaker and director, working on short films, music videos, and other narrative fiction. Over time, the skills I developed on those projects took me on a path to corporate and industrial work, helping clients tell the stories that were critical to their success.

My first job in educational media was almost an accident, but I quickly found a whole new set of challenges and concerns to grab my interest. In film and marketing, we often pursue emotional resonance. But in learning design, sophisticated ideas need to be both communicated to and retained by your audience. Media is often only one component in a multimodal sequence designed to enhance student learning—which, critically, is not the same as entertaining students.

I bring this unique background to every project I work on. This includes the skills of traditional narrative and marketing work, with an ability to produce evocative, emotionally resonant content, as well as the skills of an educator, where clear, thoughtful communication are paramount.
